IndieoGoGo Sample "Ask" Letter


Dear (insert your friend’s or family member’s name here),

I'm reaching out to you to ask for your help in raising money to help pay for the production costs of an amazing musical that (I’m in) or (my son/daughter is in) -- GREASE.  The reason we need your help is that schools do not budget any money to run a performing arts program or for our live stage productions.  Yes, that's a sad fact. We have to raise 100% of our budget through donations, sponsors and ticket sales.  

We are currently running a $30,000 fundraising campaign now through March 5, 2016.  Your donation will help support the costs of the collaborative production of GREASE that Roosevelt and Lincoln High School Drama Departments are doing together.  It's an expensive production!  Just the rights alone to perform this show cost more than $12,000.  

Though it's expensive to do, the results will be FANTASTIC! Our audiences always comment that our musicals are first rate -- as good, or better, than Portland's local professional companies!
